Scott brings more than 25 years of experience in the design and master planning of award-winning residential, commercial, institutional and mixed-use projects.  He has tirelessly worked to improve quality of life through design for affordable housing and senior communities in the Washington metropolitan area. 

Active in the community and the profession, Mr. Matties served as 2014 President of the American Institute of Architects Northern Virginia Chapter, has lectured at Design DC, Architectural Exchange East, and Catholic University, and currently serves on the Urban Design Committee for the Rosslyn BID and the Board of The Lee Highway Alliance.  A native of Michigan, Mr. Matties has lived with his family in Arlington, Virginia, for more than 20 years.
